Hi there. Yes, autumn is my favorite season. For me it's always been about the leaves changing color and cooler weather. While I enjoy a pumpkin spice latte, and I do like me some homemade pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, that's not what I look forward to most. Where I live we do have trees that their leaves turn red, but not as many as places like New England or the New York where I grew up. There the array of fall colors is beautiful. As a kid I didn't really think about it or appreciate it until we moved to Florida, where there was no color changing, which is one reason why I didn't stay once I was old enough to leave.
Wyoming is home, and we have many windy days so I try to enjoy the leaves while they're still on the trees because I know soon they will be on the ground. It was fun raking leaves with my daughter when she was little, and doing the same when my grandchildren were little. Now I get to feel like a kid again as I kick dry leaves as I'm walking along a sidewalk. A simple pleasure in life.
If you haven't done it in a while, maybe today is the day to go outside and reconnet with Mother Nature. She's always waiting.
